The Silicon Valley Black Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to economically empower and develop the African-American as well as underserved communities.

  • Bay Area Black Yellow Pages. As a member you will be automatically upgraded to an extended listing in the annual “Bay Area Black Yellow Pages”(BABYP) and the BayAreaBlackYellowPages.com website. This extended listing is a bold print listing that allows you to add URL, email contact, fax #, contact name and be listed in multi categories (if applicable) to the Directory FREE of charge ($150 value). The BABYP is distributed throughout the Bay Area. In addition, directory advertising and sponsorship opportunities are available.
  • Business Referrals. One of the great benefits is our referral service. The Black Chamber receives numerous calls for various referrals. It is our policy to refer our small business members first.
  • Business Plan Development/Financial Planning. The Black Chamber offers classes and assistance in developing business plans. In addition, the Black Chamber/ through the City of San Jose’s Revolving Loan Fund and other member banks, offers assistance with securing small business loans.
  • Database Marketing Access. As a small business member you have access to market or direct sale your product to both our “E” and physical databases. Our database contains a listing of people who have strong ties and are associated with the Silicon Valley African American community. At no additional charge, twice a year you can distribute email from your company to our “E” database list that currently boasts 2,000+ people. In addition, for a nonminal fee (.04 per label) if requested we will provide you with pre-printed mailing labels comprised of all or part of the BABYP listing companies and organizations.
  • Discounts. As a business you have the opportunity to be a member of our “Discount Membership Program”.
  • Affordable Advertising. As a member, you can advertise at a very affordable rate in our monthly newsletter.
  • The Incubator Program. The Incubator Program is designed for new entrepreneurs and we support them by providing low cost office space located in our facility and access to basic office and administrative services. Specifically, we offer separate self contained partially furnished office units (not cubicles) reserved exclusively for start–up businesses and for each unit, there is 24 hour office access under their own lock and key. We also pay utilities and provide access to our conference room. All of these services are offered for the nominal fee of only $300.00 a month.
  • Minority Business Certification. We provide assistance in obtaining certification with many agencies, including the City of San Jose, to get your business properly added in databases for minority contracts.
